As has become tradition, here is my 2016 VW toy roundup.
Starting off small is this split window "Margarine Kafer" I received for my birthday from my buddy Tom.
This beautiful Siku Kombi came from my buddy Bob.
This vintage Lego Microbus was found at a train show. The Aurora Speedline car at right will be a future slot car.
This Anguplass Karmann Ghia was made in Spain. I found it at the Zephyrhills Florida auto swap meet.
This very early Budgie Kombi dates from 1956. Thanks P.J.!
All my collector friends know I have a thing for French Majorettes with opening trunks!
This modest looking Super Beetle may be the star of the Roundup. It took me 15 years to find one of these rare Gama Minette VWs in 1/63 scale. (Not to be confused with the Gama Mini-Mod in 1/43).
This 1/40 Wiking is Santa's favorite. It was found at the Florida Bug Jam.
These two Wiking buses needed some restoration, but turned out great!
White Tekno bug and yellow Gama post bus came from the Rochester New York Antique and Collectible Toy Show last summer.
Thing at left was one of my Christmas gifts from Kyle. He actually rebuilt my childhood car!
For my birthday, PJ came through with this holy grail item, a Gama Coke pickup!
Vintage Tootsietoy car carrier is from the 1950s. Note Mini-Lindy bus in foreground.
The Ol' McDonald Farm Truck has appeared in previous roundups, but never one with the box and the always-missing plastic cow in back. No one ever wanted that cow more than me! Big thanks to the "Bug Farmer" for this one!
Here is my model project for 2016, a model of a mini-stock from the 1970s. (Similar to a modified.) Thanks to Bob for the Union/IMC kit.
And last but not least, this fantastic Mickey Mouse Camper, a Christmas gift from PJ. I had never even seen one. Note the Mickey driver!
