So, today I had some time, and managed about 5 hours in the garage this afternoon. I managed to cut out the left floorpan, and tried an initial fit of the new one, with a bit of trimming before I ran out of time. Some photos below, and more in my photobucket album (last page of "Rusty", and they are in reverse after loading...grrr).

Seat fits the tracks perfectly!

Pedal assembly out

Rough cutting with an air chisel. Like a hot knife through butter in spots!

Unbolted the heater channel bolts (I did support the pan from underneath with a stack of wood)

I then went around and chiseled off the remains of the old pan by hand to get the old spot welds, and left over metalimage.

Cleaned up pretty well. Still have more cleaning up of the ledge the new pan will be welded to. I'll do that once I have the pan fit, and then I can grind the edges and drill some holes for the welds.

It was great to get some work done today. I do have a few sore muscles, and such, but it is worth it!!
