The engine was replaced many times over the years actually! The stock 36hp engine was replaced with a 40hp, then replaced with a 60hp engine, Small but peppy! I have the full car, shell and all. I was wondering if a 1972 super Beetle pan can hold and properly fit a 1958 Beetle shell. Pics will come soon! I'm in Tennessee, so I'm still awake at like 5:00 in the morning. I will get pics on today!

If you have a genuine '58 on a '58 chassis, I wouldn't entertain fitting it on a later chassis.  That said, the front end is vastly different.  The super has no beam, and the top shock/spring mount is part of the body.  So I'm gonna just go out on a limb here and say no.. it won't fit.. Not without major modifications. If you have floorpan half issues, just replace the floorpans.  If you were considering a body swap anyway, take the body off your '58 and set it to one side, then replace the floorpans on the chassis as they are cheap and easier to do properly.   I'd hazzard a guess they are arount $100 a side.
Quick google came up with this:  http://www.jbugs.com/category/1956-1970-vw-bug-floor-pans.html

You have one thing that most of us don't, and that is time.   You can't drive the car for several years yet, so you have the time to do this properly and learn a hell of a lot.  Then when you first drive this car to school, you will have a very cool car and your mates will be jealous.  Most of us buy a wreck AT 17 and want to drive it right away so the resto ends up rushed.     But yours should and could be restored before you can drive it.   Just don't do all that, then sit back and say "wow that was fun... " then sell it...   :-)

There is a wealth of knowledge here about Herbie and also about VWs in general.  As already stated, take some time to use the search, and browse the Vault.  This will mean you will be able to fit in to this forum just right.   There is nothing more annoying than just blindly asking questions that have already been answered and archived for your convenience.   :-)
That being said, if you can't find the answer, then ask away.  That is what we are here for. :-)

Also, not every answer regarding the resto will be answered here.  There are VW forums for that, like the samba.     But most of all, just do your research and have fun.  Stay focused.

And perhaps sell that super to fund some stuff for the real beetle.   (Supers are great parts cars... For other people... )
