Makes me wonder who is the redneck tardo that would paint brake drums white. But that is just me.

Are you thinking Monte Carlo Herbie? A long shot, but it would be cool.
Proud parents of a child whose self esteem is sufficient that he doesn't need his minor scholastic achievements boasted about on the back of the family vehicle. |

hmm... Curious and more curious. Too bad the seller didn't know where he got them.

that is a bit of a long shot, but an interesting one nonetheless. you can sort of make out white paint on the lugnuts too, which i think would sort of hint at
the possibility of a disney quick spray paint job. very cool find Dan, and no one better than you to investigate these either!

Sorry, but it just means someone was lazy when repainting the car, and the wheels...my brake drums are the same, lug nuts and all...still fun to wonder, but an
aweful long shot!

They just look particularly familiar to me because they're identical to how Herbie #12's brake drums looked when I first got him.

...and the paint's still mostly there and glossy, so it was decent paint and they were well cleaned before painting.
You never know. Parts is parts. That's how I scored my Herbie glove box door. Complete fluke.

I don't really think they're from an original Herbie (though anything's possible), I just thought the comparison was striking. Dan

They should not have stopped using that white paint with just the drums. Then car would have held up better.

Well, this drums are for the king-pin suspension spindles, right?
The 5 wide drums & the ball joint suspension will be '65 to '67 original drums. If I want to retrofit 5 wide wheels to a newer car I can just bolt on '65 to '67 drums? ![]()

Jose - You probably need the ball joint spindle, but I could be wrong...Tim did the conversion on Scruffy...

Someone just popped off the hubcaps and repaited the rims. It's happened thousand of times, including cars I've owned. (non-Herbies)

No, Doc, I'm sorry.
Jesus, Helen Hayes, and Walt Disney appeared to me in a vision last night and confirmed that these were from an authentic Herbie.
